Halloween Blizzard of 91'

 Halloween Blizzard of 1991

Remembering the Halloween Blizzard of 1991 - West Central ...

The night of Halloween was met with a chilly night as it began around mid day on the 31st to snow. What had begun as rain quickly turned into freezing rain, and as the night went about, it finally ended up as snow. The state of Minnesota had expected such weather, but not what actually went down.

It had continuously snowed for 3 days straight until the 3rd of November. My father was new to Minnesota at the time, and he always talks about how when he came back from work at night, the snow was manageable. But when he woke up the next morning, it was impossible to open the front door. Plowing snow, let alone had become a difficult task since he estimated it was about 10-18 inches of snow at least. It was shown on the news how Duluth, Minnesota had it the worst with record-breaking 36.9 Inches of snow during the 3-day snowing period, which had also reached Wisconsin. All of this, followed up by more Thundering and Wind Gusts, made this Halloween a bit more spooky.
